DIY Hand Sanitizers

Welcome back to another DIY article. With all that has been going on lately, we found this post to be only fitting. Today, you will learn how to make your own hand sanitizing products. These DIY Hand Sanitizers are easy to make and very cheap.

The spread of the novel corona-virus has everyone in a frenzy and a lot of stores are literally out of hand sanitizers. But luckily, you do not have to panic. These homemade sanitizers are just as effective as the store bought ones. All you need to do is to use them properly to protect yourself from the virus.

Most of the sanitizers you will be learning to make in this post require the use of rubbing alcohol and aloe vera gel. However, if you do not have these items you should still go ahead and watch as there are other things you can use.

Let’s get started…

1. DIY Alcohol Based Sanitizer

To make this DIY hand sanitizer, you only need three things. These are alcohol (video shows the best type to use and why), aloe vera gel and essential oils. The essential oils are not necessary so you can make the sanitizer without it. However if you would like to make your own essential oils, you can check it out here.

2. DIY Hand Sanitizer Without Alcohol

If you are all out of rubbing alcohol, you can still make your own hand sanitizer. By substituting rubbing alcohol for grain alcohol your sanitizer can be just as effective. The ingredients in this video give you up to 15 small bottles of sanitizer. Make it for yourself today.

3. Hand Sanitizer from World Health Organization

This video shows you how to make three easy hand sanitizers based on the World Health Organization’s recipe. It is highly likely that you have all the important base ingredients at home. Make it for yourself today.

4. DIY Disinfectant Spray

This DIY sanitizer is not made for your hands. Instead, it is made to sanitize frequently touched objects and surfaces. I do not recommend that you use this solution on its own without a hand sanitizer. This is essentially an additional measure that you can take to protect yourself.

5. DIY Hand Sanitizing Wipes

Here, you learn to make your own antibacterial wipes. Just in case you prefer them to hand sanitizers. This is surprisingly easy to make with a limited amount of ingredients, a lot of which are the  same ingredients as in the videos above. Like the hand sanitizers you can take these wipes with you anywhere as long as you store them properly. A reusable plastic bag is recommended.

Now that you know how to make your own sanitizers, you are able to protect yourself more. Remember that these sanitizing products ARE NOT substitutes for hand washing. You should still wash your hands thoroughly with soap and in the event that you cannot, you then use your DIY Sanitizers.
